Local Officer Online Orientation | 4 hours: This overview training is designed to acquaint local leaders with the roles and responsibilities of elected officers and provide general information and resources needed to begin the process of building a strong and effective local. Legal, fiduciary, and reporting requirements are discussed, as are planning and budgeting.
Local Officers Essentials Training (Self-paced)
The purpose of this online learning resource is to engage and educate union members, officers and staff. If you are a new officer, or interested in becoming one then this course will give you a basic overview of the roles and responsibilities that will be required of you. To become a local officer, you must be elected by the local membership.
Steward Essentials Training (Self-paced)
The job of the AFGE Steward is one of the most exciting and challenging jobs you can have. As a new steward, you are the face of AFGE and you are management’s equal. Members will look to you for guidance and leadership when they need to solve problems with their employer.
