Pre-Conference Legislative Advocacy Orientation

 Due to a shortened conference this year, on-site workshops will not occur, but the Advocacy Department is committed to ensuring all participants feel ready to confidently and effectively participate in this upcoming 2026 LegCon.  

Soon, all conference participants will have access to a short pre-conference video that highlights key legislative wins from 2025, insights on how to lobby effectively, including what to expect in meetings with Members of Congress and staff, best practices for strong advocacy, and how to prepare ahead of time.

Participants will also be introduced to the basic structure of a congressional meeting, helping demystify the process and build confidence for those lobby visits on Capitol Hill Monday, February 9th and Tuesday, February 10th. 

Whether this is your first time attending or you’re returning, this 2026 Legislative Advocacy Pre-Conference Orientation will be an additional tool to help you get grounded and aligned as you prepare for your time in DC.
